Source of Light:
In the film industry we come across many
different sources and types of lighting. The two types we have are
low-key and high-key lighting. Lighting can come in many different ways
for example natural lighting like the sun, artificial, mixed or even
studio all of these are different ways to shine light on the main focus
or to create an effect on the audience, for example a lot of thriller
movies will use artificial lighting such as street lamps and
torchlight's as this gives it a more suspenseful feel. Moreover the
light source used in a film can play a part in the Mise-en-scene as
artificial lighting can make a scene more suspenseful in addition to that it can also help create tension if used correctly and a good use of lighting can help to set the mood of scene very easily as the audience will be able to tell straight away from how well lit up the subject is.
