Use of Exposure

Use of Exposure:

F-Stop = 5.0 Shutter = 1/1000

To achieve the depth of field in the image above I had to set the f-stop to 5.0 to focus on the object and blur out the background through having the camera take in more light by increasing the ISO. The reason why the image came out having low brightness is due to the fact I set the shutter to 1/1000.

F-Stop = 5.6 Shutter = 1/100

In the image above I used a shutter speed of 1/100 due to the fact that the main focus of the image was not moving but stayed still meaning that the shutter speed of 1/100 would give the camera plenty of time to focus on the person and produce a clear image. The f-stop is at 5.6 as I wanted to get an image with a lot more in it so the f-stop allowed it to take in the right amount of light to make everything in focus.

F-Stop = 5.6 Shutter = 1/100

The f-stop on this image was set to 5.6 as I am closely focusing on a certain object which is the branch with all the leaves around it. The f-stop of 5.6 lets plenty of light in for the camera to take a clear picture of the branch and all the individual leaves. Secondly the shutter speed of 1/100 allows me to give the camera enough time to focus on each individual detail.

F-Stop = 5.6 Shutter = 1\1000

In this image I used the same f-stop as I did in the previous image but the reason why this one came out much darker and much more out of focus is because I increased the shutter speed to 1/1000 the reason this had such an affect on the image is because the lens had much less time to absorb light and focus on everything that is in front of it.

F-Stop = 5.6 Shutter = 1/800

In this image we can see the focus on the lighter and the blurring out of the background. This is achieved through a f-stop of 5.6 which allows me to portray the depth of field in the image I was then able to further emphasize on the depth of field through setting the shutter to 1/800 which allowed me to focus on the lighter and completely blur out the background.

F-Stop = 9.0 Shutter = 1/200

In the image I used an f-stop of 9.0 because we were indoors and the lighting was quite low key so in order to make the image visible and and clear I used and f-stop of 9.0 to allow the lens to absorb more light. Furthermore I set the shutter speed to 1/200 to allow the lens to stay open for longer so it has more time to focus and to yet again absorb as much light as possible to make the image visible.

F-Stop = 9.0 Shutter = 1/200

Once again just as the image above I used the same shutter speed and f-stop due to the fact that the picture was taken indoors and in the same conditions as the previous one therefore by using the same settings I was able to get a picture from a different angle with a similar effect where the focus of the image is clear and the background is blurred out due to how bright it is.

F-Stop = 9.0 Shutter = 1/200

Firstly to start of with I used a shutter speed of 1/200 because the image was still therefore that meant I did not have to worry about any movement. The reason why I used an f-stop of 9.0 is because I was not focusing on what was directly in front of the lens but much more whats in the background hence why the hand looks blurred but the person behind the hand is clear therefore demonstrating the depth of field in the picture.

F-Stop = 9.0 Shutter = 1/200

The reason behind why I used an f-stop of 9.0 is because once again I was indoors and the low key lighting made it difficult to take a clear image therefore in order to achieve a good shot I set the f-stop at 9.0 in addition to that I was further away from the subject so I wanted to make the image more focused. The shutter speed was once again set to 1/200 because the subject sat still therefore I did not have to worry about having to set the shutter speed to 1/1000 which would be used when taking shots of someone that is constantly moving.

F-Stop = 6.3 Shutter = 1/200

In this image we can clearly see the focus of the image. This was achieved with an f-stop of 6.3 and a shutter speed of 1/200 due to the low key lighting. This picture could of came out better and much more natural if I didn't use a flash which gave it the extremely high key lighting effect. Going back to the shutter speed and f-stop the reason I used these is due to the condition and the lack of bright light in addition to that the focus of the image stood still therefore it meant I didn't have to take any shots mid action.

 F-Stop = 6.3 Shutter = 1/400

The f-stop in this image is at 6.3 as I tried to show the depth of field in a subtle manner also because the subject was fairly far away from the camera I had to use the f-stop of 6.3 in order to achieve a clear image as there is a lot of thing in the picture to focus on. The shutter speed is use is 1/400 because there was some wind out doors therefore resulting in the hair or jacket of the subject move therefore by using a slightly faster shutter speed I was able to get a clear image with no blurs or loss of focus.

 F-Stop = 6.3 Shutter = 1/200

The f-stop in this image is 6.3 as I wanted to achieve a very clear image of the sign because I was trying to fill the frame and because this sign was going to fill the whole frame I wanted to have everything in focus and clear. The shutter speed was set to 1/200 because it is a still image and there is no movement therefore this shutter speed allowed me to take a high quality picture when filling the frame.

F-Stop = 6.3 Shutter = 1/200

In this picture I had to use an f-stop of 6.3 as the picture was taken in doors where the lighting made the picture come out very low key therefore by having an f-stop of 6.3 and shutter speed of 1/200 I was able to get everything in focus and and make sure that the subject of the image stands out. In addition to that I used a flash to add some extra light.
